We have been investigating what life might have been like for early humans in living in the Stone Age. This week we have been talking about food. What did they eat? Where did it come from? Did they cook?
Archiologists belive early humans used to cook the berries and nuts they gathered over a fire and sweetened them with honey. So we had a go too.
We put hazelnuts, blackberries, blueberries and honey into a big pan and left it cooking while we worked.
The smell was amazing and it brought lots of visitors asking what we were doing.
After lunch it was ready, we decided to eat it with custard. Not historically accurate, but delicious!
Mrs Evans came to find out what we were up to and try some for herself.
Lots of children had a second portion, look at all those empty dishes.
Absolutely loving the new lease of life and love regained for learning Brian is showing since moving into his new year 3 class. There’s nothing better than picking your child up from school and they are burst with enthusiasm to tell all about what they’ve learnt that day. Thank you Mrs Heaton, Mrs Venture and Mrs O’donohue.
